American soprano Erica Miller continues to receive critical acclaim for her performances on the operatic and concert stages. Regarding her performance of Marie in LA FILLE DU RÉGIMENT, the Houston Chronicle raved “Erica Miller mesmerizes us and takes us to that place of coloratura heaven where few have trod…Her bright and stunning instrument so powerfully and profoundly touches us…."

Dr. Miller has performed some of the most exacting opera roles written for the soprano voice. She has been a frequent interpreter of the Königin der Nacht DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE; with this role she made her European debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and has also performed it with the Festival Internacional de Música de Almansa (Spain), Opera Birmingham, Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra, Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, Salt Marsh Opera, and Opera North (New Hampshire). Dr. Miller has also performed the role of the Maid in Thomas Adès’s 1995 opera POWDER HER FACE in 2006 under the composer’s baton, and in 2013 covered the same role with New York City Opera.  Her repertoire includes Marie LA FILLE DU RÉGIMENT, Aspasia MITRIDATE, RE DI PONTO, Poppea AGRIPPINA, Elettra IDOMENEO, Adele DIE FLEDERMAUS, Clorinda LA CENERENTOLA, Frasquita CARMEN, Despina COSÌ FAN TUTTE, Erste Elfe DIE ÄGYPTISCHE HELENA, Madame Silberklang DER SHAUSPIELDIREKTOR, Ein junger Hirt TANNHÄUSER, La Novice MARIE VICTOIRE, and Ännchen DER FREISCHÜTZ, the vehicle of her debut at the Macau International Music Festival in 2011.

In 2008-2009 Dr. Miller was a member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin ensemble, an opportunity made possible through the Curt Engelhorn Scholarship of the Opera Foundation, Inc. She was responsible for ten roles with the company, including multiple performances of Königin der Nacht DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE, and covering Zerbinetta ARIADNE AUF NAXOS and Sophie DER ROSENKAVALIER. She was also gained the prestigious invitation to sing at the Beijing Music Festival’s opening concert in the Forbidden City Concert Hall.

In 2015, Dr. Miller made her initial appearances at Carnegie Hall, debuting as the Soprano Soloist in the FAURÉ REQUIEM conducted by Craig Jessop, presented by Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) and returning as the Soprano Soloist in the MOZART REQUIEM conducted by Joe Miller presented by Manhattan Concert Productions (MCP). She has performed DVO
ŘÁK REQUIEM, BRAHMS REQUIEM, and HAYDN CREATION with the Central Jersey Choral Society, and presented the Lieder program VIENNA, CITY OF SONG during two consecutive seasons with Philadelphia’s Lyric Fest.

Dr. Miller made her directorial debut with Opera in the Heights in the Houston premiere of Rossini’s OTELLO in 2012.

Dr. Miller received her Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees from the University of Southern California.  She was a student of Cynthia Munzer, and worked extensively with director Ken Cazan and conductor Brent McMunn. Dr. Miller earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey.
